Can BOILING WATER clean off loose change that has been sticky from gum?

I have had gum sitting in a bag full of change and so they have become sticky over time with the heat and I have no idea how to clean them off now. I saw in a movie called ‘Running With Scissors’ the boy was doing it, but wanted to know if someone knew off hand before I tried it.

If no gum is stuck and just is from its oils them yes soap and hot water with take it off.

heat the water and shut of the heat. then place about 3 tablespoons of dawn soap in the pan and place the coins in. Let sit for 15 minutes and then wash them like you would a dish with a rag.
