Boil treatment?
I got an ingrown hair on in the inside of my calf that is drastically changing into a huge boil. Any home treatments I can do over the weekened before I go to the doctors on Monday? I’ve had these before, and from my experience, it seems to take a few weeks or a month to subside and drain. Right now theres no head, and has gone form just an ingrown hair to a deep red/black circle with a hard red circle about the size of a sand dollar around it. Help! I need treatment! I know I need to go to the doctor, and I will, but until then…
I have this problem occasionally.mine usually come to a head fast but Ive had a couple that didn’t and they hurt like hell ,so I’m sorry for you.
i use hot wet packs and the bread and milk poultice .I put the bread and milk on with a gauze pad and tape then lay the hot wet pack on top.
sometimes they just dont come to a head and have to be lanced. thats really best done by a doctor.
I had one once I couldnt reach (not telling where) LOL. and had to be lanced in the E.R. the shots and scalpel were a bit scary but worth it considering the relief afterwards.
so if the pain continues you may consider the ER. instead of waiting.if you develop a fever or red streaks run out from the middle go to the ER .most boils are caused by a staph infection and you dont want to take the risk of it spreading into your system.
