Mouth sore – how long to heal?

I have had a lump on the roof of my mouth for a week now. It does seem to be shrinking but it is filled with fluid. It is very small and painless. If it gets irritated it gets a little harder. I did have dental work done there in the past and may have burned it. No fever and no other real symtoms accept boil like symptoms in my genital area. I have been tested for Stds and didnt have any. Is it normal for it to take a week to heal? I am taking anti biotics from my dentist.
